Dogs are fantastic animals, we can all agree on that! How wonderful would it be if we could strengthen the bond with our four-legged friend by getting rid of the annoyances in our relationship?! ​
At Dogs & Their Homes we believe that by giving a dog and its handler a well thought-out basic structure we create the cornerstone of a healthy bond with the animal. Our services are therefore fully geared to this.
Below you can already get an idea about our different services! This is just a base: together with you we can see what is possible, with you and your dog!
individual behaviour training
Just like with humans, a problem can also arise with a dog that is difficult to deal with.
Common problems include, for example:
My dog ​​pulls on the leash
My dog ​​barks as soon as the bell rings
My dog ​​jumps up at visitors
My dog ​​is possessive of his food, begs for food, or steals food from the table
My dog ​​is constantly barking or barking (to other dogs, people, or at random)
My dog ​​exhibits destructive behavior ... ​
However, the cause of this problem is often obvious:
An inadequately socialized dog
Lack of communication between handler and dog
Lack of structure ​
How this problem is tackled is often another matter. We look, together with you, during our individual training moments, how we can solve these problems. Every dog ​​is unique and therefore deserves tailor-made training. We always start with a theory lesson (2.5 hours), in which the basic principles of the education of the dog are discussed.
This first session will take place in group and online. Only then will we start working together in real-life. ​ We offer our lessons at €60/h, incl. VAT. This rate applies to both the theory (2.5 hours) and the practical sessions (1 to 1.5 hours per session). Lessons take place in Ertvelde as much as possible. For problems that are related to the home situation, and which we cannot simulate elsewhere, we come to your home. For transportation time the same hour rate of €60/h applies.
PUPPYTRAINING
In this course, spread over 4 lessons, we provide you with the complete basic package to enable you to raise a dog and train it to be a pleasant housemate: ​

The theory: how does a dog think/learn? How do I properly handle the dog in the house? How do I offer my dog ​​enough structure? This first session will take place in group and online.

Walk correctly on a leash

Basic commands: stay in the basket/bench or on the mat, sit, lie down, sit at the foot, come here, ...

Habituation and socialization with other dogs, without risk ​

The practical lessons in this puppy course are given individually, so that the content can be adapted to your own wishes, depending on what you attach most importance to. ​
In our puppytraining, we accept with a maximum age of 6 months.

In total, the lessons take about 8 hours, for a total price of €260 incl. VAT. Lessons take place in Ertvelde as much as possible. For problems that are related to the home situation, and which we cannot simulate elsewhere, we will come to your home. For transportation time our standard hour rate of €60/h applies.
E-Collar
Training
E-collars are too often portrayed as a dog-unfriendly "weapon." The media is therefore trying to ban the e-collar. We try to counter this by showing that the e-collar is one of the most dog-friendly training tools available, and can be used perfectly as a support tool when training certain dogs. ​
An e-collar, combined with thorough training and consistent use, can create a fantastic bond between dog and handler. The 'invisible leash' will ultimately offer your dog great freedom, and prevents the constant dragging of the actual leash, which can take away a lot of physical discomfort for you and your dog in the short term. In addition, using the e-collar strengthens your confidence in your dog, even at a distance and without a leash. That trust in turn results in a happy and obedient dog, because as you know, trust works in two directions. ​
You can contact us for training with this tool, but not for free sales. Only with a thorough training will we feel confident enough to entrust this device to you. Here as well we always start with a theory lesson (2.5h to 3h), in which the basic principles of raising a dog and its natural thinking behavior are discussed. This first session will take place in group and online. Only then do we also start working together in practice, first without e-collar and purely on the basis of structural and consistent action, then, if desired, also with. ​
Here too we use an hourly rate of €60. This rate applies to both the theory (2.5 hours) and the practical lessons (1 to 1.5 hours per session). Lessons take place in Ertvelde as much as possible. Only for problems that are related to the home situation, and which we cannot simulate elsewhere, will we come to your home. For transportation time the same hour rate of €60/h applies.
The purchase price of an e-collar is not included in the training, but it can be purchased from us. We work with Dogtrace equipment, but if you prefer a different brand/model, that is of course also possible - provided that the equipment is reliable and of sufficient quality to ensure a perfect training. ​​
!! Attention: we strongly endorse the educational function of the e-collar, but only if the device is introduced under supervision and with the necessary expertise. The operation of and with e-collars is so specific and different for each dog that they cannot simply be used without thorough knowledge of the specific dog, dog behavior and training. BOOTCAMP
In specific cases we also offer a boot camp or in-house training. In addition, your dog will be taken care of with us for a period of at least 2 weeks, where he will receive a true training submersion: ​

We give the dog solid foundations, which you can use after training to build a balanced relationship with his or her dog. The boot camp is very interesting for dogs that struggle with problem behavior that is more difficult to provoke or tackle during individual lessons. A longer, very intensive training can also be interesting for four-legged friends who still have to receive a full (re)education. ​ If you are interested in a bootcamp, please contact us for further details and pricing. GroUp Classes & waLKS
Dogs and owners who followed an individual program with us can participate in our small-scale group lessons and relaxed group walks.

The group lesson takes place every two weeks on Saturday morning, from 9:30 am to 10:30 am, with varying locations.

BUILDING KENNELS
In mid-2017, the company Tiny Wood Constructions was founded together with Jorn Claeys, Francis Dorissen and Kenny Dendauw. Together we have been building kennels, fences and wooden outbuildings for more than 10 years.
New are our movable kennels, stables and outbuildings. As a basis for this, we use a galvanized chassis that allows it to be easily moved afterwards. This means that the whole, given its movable nature, will be permit-free. ​
